The renovation of existing memorials is a time consuming process - it is ofter suggested that one can jet wash a memorial, or simply douse stone with acid or other cleaning chemicals. These methods can sometimes produce results, but in reality speed up the weathering process of the memorial. We would warn against using any chemical cleaning solution advertised for use on memorials, as we have seen these cause staining and irreparable damage.
